“My Hero’s”

In the early morn you wake me
Giving me cuddles and kisses
In the bath I go
Scrubbed down by loving hands
Towelled down with kiss on my forehead

You dress me warm
Mom dresses me even warmer
You put my socks on
I try to keep them off
On goes my shoes and out the door we go

I reach for your hand
Your hand curls around mine
Yours is so much bigger than mine
I feel safe when you hold my hand
I want to hold yours forever

We walk the streets
You with your long strides
I with my short skips to keep up
You walk around puddles
I try going through them

Home again playing in my room
Soon you call for food
Yummy my favourite
Soon it will be bedtime
Reading and cuddles

Kisses goodnight
Wishes of sweet dreams
I softly murmur “wuv you both”
One last kiss and my hero’s leave
